Industries/Renewables & storage
Renewables & storage developers
On generation and storage projects the step-up transformer sits directly on the interconnection critical path, and the milestone dates are usually contractual.
Procurement reality
How this segment buys
- Generation step-up transformers sized to the plant’s point of interconnection rather than to a distribution standard.
- Interconnection agreements and offtake contracts carry dated milestones, so slipping delivery has direct commercial consequences.
- The serving utility often imposes its own standard specification on equipment at the point of interconnection.
- Incentive structures may reward domestic content, which changes the commercial calculus even where imported equipment is legally permitted.
What we bring to it
Where we fit
- Approximately 8 months from order release, set against interconnection milestone dates.
- Configuration quoted against the interconnecting utility’s specification, with exceptions listed explicitly.
- DDP to site quotable, so freight and duty risk sit with us rather than surfacing as a change order.
- Routine tests per IEEE C57.12.90 with certificates per serial number for the commissioning and interconnection package.
Before you evaluate us
What to settle first
Two separate questions to settle early. First, whether the project draws on federal funding that carries a domestic-content requirement — if so, we are not eligible. Second, whether the project is pursuing a domestic-content incentive, which is a commercial decision for you rather than a legal bar, but which imported equipment may make harder to satisfy. Either way we would rather know at enquiry stage.
Our units are of foreign manufacture and do not qualify as domestic end products. The eligibility checker on the Trade & Compliance page answers this in three questions.
