Industries/Cooperatives & G&T
Electric cooperatives & G&T co-ops
G&T co-ops buy the largest units in our range. The single thing to settle first is RUS exposure, because it decides whether we can bid at all.
Procurement reality
How this segment buys
- Distribution co-ops and their G&T often run separate procurements, with the G&T holding the larger transmission-class purchases.
- Loss evaluation is standard practice, frequently using capitalisation rates set by the co-op or its engineering consultant.
- Long-standing supplier relationships and approved-vendor lists mean a new supplier is usually asked to prove documentation first.
- Financing may come through RUS / USDA, which brings domestic-content rules under 7 CFR 1787 into play.
What we bring to it
Where we fit
- Ratings up to 50 MVA, with our commercial focus in the 12–50 MVA class where G&T requirements often sit.
- Guaranteed loss values suitable for a co-op or consultant loss-evaluation formula.
- Factory acceptance testing witnessed by an independent third-party inspection agency, with your own inspector welcome — usually the most useful assurance on a first order.
- Documentation schedule agreed and dated at order placement rather than negotiated afterwards.
Before you evaluate us
What to settle first
If the purchase is RUS-financed, domestic-content rules under 7 CFR 1787 apply and our imported units do not qualify. Tell us at enquiry stage and we will decline rather than consume your evaluation time. Where a co-op runs both RUS-financed and unrestricted programmes, we are glad to look at the unrestricted packages.
Our units are of foreign manufacture and do not qualify as domestic end products. The eligibility checker on the Trade & Compliance page answers this in three questions.
