Industries/EPCs & contractors
EPCs & electrical contractors
EPCs frequently hold the transformer purchase order on the owner’s behalf, which makes submittals, dated documentation and clean prequalification matter as much as price.
Procurement reality
How this segment buys
- The transformer is bought against the owner’s specification, with requirements flowed down through the subcontract.
- Submittal and approval cycles are contractual, so documentation dates are as important as the delivery date.
- New suppliers go through vendor prequalification, often on a system designed for site subcontractors.
- Delivery coordination — access, off-loading and setting — is usually the contractor’s scope, not the supplier’s.
What we bring to it
Where we fit
- Documentation schedule agreed and dated at order placement, so submittal dates are contractual rather than informal.
- Clause-by-clause compliance response against the owner’s specification, with exceptions listed explicitly for you to carry into your own submittal.
- A copyable vendor record for your prequalification system, including the legal entity name, entity type and NAICS code.
- DDP to site quotable, with the scope boundary stated plainly so there is no argument about off-loading later.
Before you evaluate us
What to settle first
We supply manufactured equipment and are not a construction contractor. Site prequalification items — EMR, OSHA 300 logs, trade licences, bonding of construction work — do not apply to us and we do not hold them. If your system has a materials-supplier or equipment-vendor track, that is the correct classification.
Our units are of foreign manufacture and do not qualify as domestic end products. The eligibility checker on the Trade & Compliance page answers this in three questions.
